A certain baseball manager assured his players that they would in
the end be the ones that laughed with joy. The manager explained that when players strive hard to visualize themselves winning the game, their faces start to assume lively expressions and the mood of the team changes completely. The same applies to all other activities in any situation. Whenever we strive for something with a mental image of our ultimate success, our countenance changes. I would say that the images we hold in our mind are ultimately reflected in our faces. People who are continually worried about one problem or another and visualize it in their minds will, naturally, have gloomy expressions. And, when we are in close contact with people who always look worried, our own facial expressions tend to become gloomy too. This process will ultimately sap our energy and cause us to lose our enthusiasm to do things. The fact that human beings are ruled by their subconscious is truly frightening. People blessed with fortune and good luck have lively expressions and do things very briskly. I believe these facts may be described as the evidence that they think in a positive way. Such people even brighten up the atmosphere around them, conveying energy and enthusiasm to the people around them. The people around them must, therefore, also become livelier and brisker. It may be that good luck and fortune come through such a process. It is often thought that fortune and good luck come to us by chance, but I believe that for the most part we ourselves attract or repel fortune and good luck. |
According to what I have learned, Konosuke Matsushita, the founder of the companies with the "National" brand, said in his later years, "I only became lucky after I gathered only lucky people around me. I didn't succeed on my own real strength. More than 90 percent of my success occurred through good luck." |
